Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ encounter guide

Mchimba the Embalmer

Mchimba is a coordination and interrupt fight. Entomb locks a player in a crypt and the party must free them fast, or Open Coffin releases Finished Mummies whose Wretched Discharge disease will overwhelm the group, while Drain Fluids and Awakening Slam keep rolling damage on the party the whole time.

The key group plan

Priorities before the pull

  • Free the Entombed player the instant the coffin shakes. Every second wasted is another Finished Mummy in the pull.
  • Interrupt every Wretched Discharge from Half-Finished and Finished Mummies. Assign kick order before the pull.
  • Heal Drain Fluids targets above 90 percent immediately so Desiccation does not gut your damage during add waves.

Kick list: Wretched Discharge

Ability reference

The casts that matter in keys

Burn Corruption

Burn Corruption

A random player is hit with purifying flames that deal Fire damage within 10 yards of impact and leave a patch of Burning Ground.

The targeted player moves away from the group and places the patch along the wall, and nobody stands in Burning Ground afterwards.

Drain Fluids

Drain Fluids

A player takes heavy Nature damage over time and pulses Explosive Acids on nearby allies, and when it ends the target gains Desiccation, which halves their damage and movement speed until they are healed above 90 percent health.

The target uses a defensive and self-healing, stays 4 yards from everyone while it ticks, and the healer tops them past 90 percent immediately to strip Desiccation.

Awakening Slam

Awakening Slam

A necrotic ground slam that deals Shadow damage to the whole party and pops open random crypts, releasing Half-Finished Mummy adds.

Heal through the burst, then kick and kill the Half-Finished Mummies quickly, because their Wretched Discharge cast must never complete.

Wretched Discharge

Wretched Discharge

KICKDISPEL: DISEASE

The mummy adds cast a party-wide disease that deals Nature damage every 2 seconds for 12 seconds, and overlapping casts from multiple mummies will kill the group.

Assign kickers to the mummies the moment they spawn and interrupt every cast. Dispel the disease off the party if a cast slips through.

Entomb

Entomb

A player is sealed inside one of the chamber's crypts, then Mchimba walks the room opening the other coffins one at a time, and every unoccupied coffin he opens releases a Finished Mummy.

The trapped player spams their struggle button to shake their coffin, and the rest of the party clicks that exact coffin immediately. Freeing them stops the ritual and the mummy spawns.

Role calls

What each role owns

Tanks

Pick up every mummy that spawns and stack them on Mchimba so the party can cleave them down while kicking Wretched Discharge.

Healers

Focus-heal the Drain Fluids target through the ticks and past 90 percent afterwards, and hold a dispel for the Wretched Discharge disease if a kick is missed.

DPS

Break off the boss for coffin clicks and mummy kicks without being called. The boss damage race matters less than the add control.

Everyone

Learn the coffin layout on the pull. When Entomb goes out, watch for the shaking coffin and click it as a group.

Tyrannical: Weeks Awakening Slam and Drain Fluids leave the party low enough that one completed Wretched Discharge is usually fatal, and the Entomb ritual punishes slow reactions with extra mummies. Slow your boss damage plan and treat coffins and kicks as the actual fight.

Pull-time callouts

Say these before the pull

  • Entombed player: spam your struggle button. Everyone else: click the shaking coffin now.
  • Kick every Wretched Discharge, both add types cast it.
  • Drain Fluids target stays 4 yards away and gets healed past 90 percent.
  • Place Burn Corruption patches on the edge of the room.
