You hit max level and the game stopped telling you what to do. Every guide assumes you already know the words. This page is the other thing: the first week in order, the tools that save you an afternoon, and what your specific class presses in each fight.
It is also the page where we say what we do not know. That is not modesty. It is the whole point, and the next section explains why.
A player asked a general-purpose AI where to find a beast to tame. It gave exact coordinates. They were wrong. She flew there, asked again, asked again, and eventually it said: oh, you caught me, I have led you down a path that was incorrect. It had invented the answer rather than say it did not have one.
That is the failure this site is built against. A confident wrong answer costs more than no answer, because you act on it. So every page here separates what was checked against a primary source from what was not, and a gap is printed rather than filled in.
You will see that below. The interrupt for your spec is named because the data names it. The dispel is not, because it does not - and rather than pick a plausible button, the page says so and shows you your own utility list instead.
Your first week, in order
Reviewed for patch 12.1.0. These are recommendations, not game rules - the rules they rest on are on the gearing page.
01
Why world-first raiders farm delves
During the pre-season week, the Tier 8+ trove map was literally the only Hero-track item in the game, and at season start Tier 8 delves still hand out a guaranteed weekly Hero piece plus Hero-track vault fills with no group required.
Run Tier 8, not the maximum tier. Delve gear caps at Tier 8 - Tiers 9-11 award identical gear and only add crests and achievements. A wipe-fest at Tier 9 pays the same item level as a smooth Tier 8.
The one reason to touch Tier 11: a Bountiful clear with lives remaining opens a Gilded Stash of Myth Mistcrests, lootable up to four times a week (reported crest counts vary, so none is stated here).
Weekly delve economy: six Restored Coffer Keys a week, four Bountiful delves active a day, one trove map a week. Spend all three.
02
Hero gear is the working band
Champion and Veteran pieces are transitional - do not spend crests on them. Hero (305-321) is what you play in until Myth-track items start flowing from the first vault reset.
Myth track (318-344) exists from day one for Mythic raiders; for everyone else it arrives through the vault and crafting, which is why the practical week-one target is a full Hero set with Myth pieces where you can get them.
03
Weapon first
Spend Myth Mistcrests, Sparks and Voidcores on your weapon before anything else - highest stat weight, longest shelf life. Week one supplies roughly one full crest climb; put it in the slot that never gets replaced mid-season.
Myth-track weapon sources this week: Mythic raid drops (Mythic opened day one), the raid vault row after two-plus Heroic kills, the M+ vault from any timed +10, Voidcore bonus rolls on Heroic/Mythic bosses or +10s, and a crafted 331 weapon from a Spark of Tides plus 80 Myth Mistcrests.
A realistic non-race target for week one is the crafted 331 weapon or a Myth 1/6 vault weapon at the first reset.
04
Vault checklist for the week
Six or more Heroic/Mythic raid bosses: three raid vault slots at Myth track next reset.
Eight timed +10s: three Myth 1/6 vault slots.
Eight Tier 8+ Bountiful delves, and spend the trove map on a Tier 8+ run: Hero vault slots plus one guaranteed Hero piece now.
From the second vault onward, three filled slots also let you take a Nebulous Voidcore instead of gear.
Tier sets: two Venom-Cursed Fragments buy a Champion-track token, and the four-set unlocks Catalyst Charge drops from raid, M+, and delves.
Short on purpose. Forty recommendations is a list nobody acts on. Every entry was fetched on 2026-09-06, then re-fetched by a second pass to confirm the link loads and names the same addon.
Finding rares and tames
The problem that started this list. These turn walking a zone into being told when the thing is up.
Puts rare NPCs, treasures and events on your world map, and alerts you on screen when one is near. This is the answer to hours spent walking a route hoping something spawned.
Updated 3 September 2026; lists 12.1.0 among supported versions. Confirmed on two stores.
It finds rares. It will not tell you whether your class can tame one or what family it is - the pet database here answers that.
Makes the auction house usable for buying consumables and crafted gear without overpaying.
Updated 24 August 2026.
Do not install these
The reason this section exists. Search the obvious term and these come back: real pages, familiar names, hundreds of thousands of downloads, and abandoned a decade ago. An out-of-date addon costs you the same afternoon a wrong coordinate does.
The closest match to the name people search for, and the reason this section exists. Last updated 1 July 2015, supporting game version 6.2.0 - Warlords of Draenor, eleven years and six expansions ago. Its database covers Draenor garrison rares. It has a real page and hundreds of thousands of downloads, which is what makes it dangerous. You want RareScanner.
Last updated 15 October 2014, and even then it only ever covered the Timeless Isle - a single Mists of Pandaria zone. It would do nothing in Midnight content.
Not abandoned, just a different thing entirely: it counts your attempts at a mount or pet drop. One character away from the rare-finding addons and recommended by mistake constantly.
Hunters: do not walk the zone
Rare beasts do not sit at one spot. They roam a route with several spawn points, which is exactly why a single coordinate from an AI sends you to an empty patch of grass. This site records 67 of its 83 rare tames with their full spawn-point list rather than one location, because the list is the truth and the single point is a guess.
The other half of the answer is that you should not be walking the route at all. An addon watches for the rare and tells you the moment it is up, which turns an afternoon into minutes. Nobody tells new hunters that, which is why it leads here.
Encounter guides are written by role - "assigned interrupters", "soak groups" - because that is how fights are designed. It leaves you reading a guide five times and still not knowing whether any of it is your job. Pick your class and spec and read the tier as your assignment sheet: 19 named duties across 9 fights.
Your interrupt is Mind Freeze. Every fight below that names an interrupt is a fight where that button is your job.

You press Mind Freeze.
Ula'tek

SoakEggs (Blightscale Spawn)assigned to Everyone
If it goes wrong: A hatched egg spawns an empowered Blightscale Viper that sprays Putrid Membrane on the whole raid, a stacking Nature DoT that lasts the rest of the fight.

SoakSerpent's Biteassigned to Marked players plus assigned soakers

No interrupt, dispel or soak is named for Vashnik the Malignant. That does not mean those fights are simple - it means their jobs are catching, dodging and tank swaps, which this tool does not try to detect. Read the full encounter page for those.
This detects three duties - interrupt, dispel and soak - because those three are named unambiguously in the encounter text. It does not try to infer movement or immunity assignments from prose, because that produces confident nonsense. For those, read the full encounter page.
What this site does not know yet
Printed here rather than left for you to discover after acting on it.
There is still no vendor or NPC map, though quests now have one.
Quest objectives are mapped: the game client publishes their positions and every quest page now draws them. NPCs are a different table and it carries no position at all, in the client or here, so a vendor map would still mean inventing coordinates. That is the one thing this page exists to refuse.
Per-spec best-in-slot for this season is not re-verified.
Nobody authoritative publishes stat weights or best-in-slot lists, and no simulation source has been checked for Season 2. Every spec guide says so on the section itself.
Talent import strings are from the previous patch.
Patch 12.1 moved and removed talents in several trees, so a string may import a build that no longer exists. They are labelled rather than rewritten, because rewriting one without a source is guessing.
Dungeon fights are not in the class duty tool yet.
The dungeon encounter data is a different shape from the raid data and carries no role assignments, so there is nothing honest to join against. Raids only, for now.
If something here is wrong, say so in the comments and it gets fixed with a source. That is the only way a list like this stays honest.
