Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ encounter guide

Rav'i

Rav'i is an eat-or-be-eaten shield-break fight: whenever she runs out of energy she feeds on the nearest Carrion Pile behind an absorb shield, stacking a group-wide Carrion Burst DoT until the shield is destroyed. Keys die when the tank lets her feed on a Fresh Meat pile and trigger Feeding Frenzy, or when the group is too slow on the shield and the stacking DoT plus uncaught meat chunks overwhelm the healer.

The key group plan

Priorities before the pull

  • There is nothing to kick on the boss herself, so the only priority is breaking the Ssscavenging or Feeding Frenzy shield the instant it appears; every global belongs on that shield.
  • Stagger minor damage cooldowns so something is always available for each feeding shield, and hold the big burst if a Feeding Frenzy is coming.
  • Assign chunk soakers before the pull so no Messy Eater chunk explodes into an extra group-wide Carrion Burst.

The casts that matter in keys

Ravenous Stomp

Ravenous Stomp

Rav'i stomps, dealing group-wide Nature damage and dropping stalactites that hit hard and stun for 2 seconds in 5 yard impact circles; skewered Twinfangs drop Fresh Meat onto nearby Carrion Piles.

Dodge every falling-rock circle, let the healer top the group, and have the tank immediately drag the boss away from every pile that just gained Fresh Meat.

Ssscavenging

When out of energy, Rav'i runs to the nearest Carrion Pile and feeds behind a shield that absorbs all damage, applying a stacking Carrion Burst DoT to everyone every 3 seconds and flinging Messy Eater meat chunks across the pit.

Burst the shield down as fast as possible, soak the flying meat chunks before they land, and use personals plus a healing cooldown while the stacks tick.

Feeding Frenzy

Feeding Frenzy

If the nearest Carrion Pile contains Fresh Meat, Rav'i feeds twice as fast instead, applying Carrion Burst to the whole group every 1.5 seconds until her shield is broken.

Never allow this on purpose: tank her away from Fresh Meat piles, and if she frenzies anyway, dump every damage cooldown into the shield immediately.

Carrion Burst

Carrion Burst

Rotting stench inflicts Nature damage every 3 seconds for 9 seconds and stacks; every Messy Eater chunk that nobody catches explodes and adds another application to the whole group.

Catch the meat chunks during feeds, break the shield quickly, and heal through the remaining stacks before they compound into lethal ticks.

Triple Shot

Triple Shot

Rav'i shoots venom globs at three players, each taking an initial hit plus pulsing Nature damage to everyone within 5 yards for 10 seconds.

Marked players spread at least 5 yards apart and stay spread until the pulses end while the healer covers the ticking damage.

Regurgitate

Regurgitate

DISPEL: DISEASE

Rav'i hurls three waves of stomach acid in lines toward one player; anyone clipped takes heavy Nature damage and suffers a 50 percent slow with damage done reduced by 50 percent.

Sidestep all three waves; if someone is hit, dispel the Disease debuff or use a snare removal so their damage output and movement come back.

Hydrastrike

Hydrastrike

All three of Rav'i's heads strike the current tank at once for heavy Physical damage.

Tanks hold active mitigation for every Hydrastrike, and be extra careful while she has the Scent of Blood attack speed buff from a nearby Fresh Meat pile.

Role calls

What each role owns

Tanks

Position Rav'i away from every Carrion Pile that gained Fresh Meat, mitigate each Hydrastrike, and watch for the Scent of Blood attack speed buff when a Fresh Meat pile is close.

Healers

Top the group before each Ravenous Stomp, then hold a major cooldown for every feeding channel while Carrion Burst stacks tick on everyone.

DPS

Swap everything into the absorb shield the moment she starts eating; shield damage is the only thing that stops the group-wide stacking DoT.

Everyone

Soak the Messy Eater meat chunks during feeds, spread for Triple Shot, and dodge Regurgitate waves and Ravenous Stomp stalactites.

Tyrannical: The feeding shield takes noticeably longer to break, so each channel puts more Carrion Burst stacks on the group; plan a defensive or healing cooldown for every single Ssscavenging and treat a Feeding Frenzy as an emergency that demands all remaining burst.

Pull-time callouts

Say these before the pull

  • Tank the boss away from Fresh Meat.
  • Shield up means every global goes into the boss.
  • Catch meat chunks or the whole group eats an extra Carrion Burst.
  • Spread for Triple Shot and dodge the Regurgitate acid waves.
