Crowd control categories
- CC comes in types - stuns, incapacitates (break on damage), roots, disorients, silences, and fears.
- Each type shares a diminishing returns category.
- Breaking CC at the right time is often more important than dealing damage.
Diminishing returns
- The same CC category on the same target is reduced: full duration, then 50%, then 25%, then immune for a short window.
- Chain different CC categories to keep a target controlled without hitting DR.
- Track DR on your target and on yourself - good players count it.
Using it
- Set up kills by CCing the healer while you burst their partner.
- Save your trinket for a kill attempt or a lethal CC chain, not the first stun.
- Peel for your teammate by CCing whoever is on them.
Key takeaways
- CC is categorized, and each category diminishes: 100%, 50%, 25%, immune.
- Chain different categories; do not waste CC into DR.
- Save your trinket for the CC that would kill you.
