Character setup

Stat priority and consumables

Item level and effect strength still matter. Use this ordering to break close choices, then re-check it after major gear swaps.

  1. 1.Intellect
  2. 2.Haste
  3. 3.Critical Strike
  4. 4.Versatility
  5. 5.Mastery

Haste is the best general Mistweaver secondary in raid and Mythic+ because it speeds casts, attacks, cooldown flow, and HoT ticks. Critical Strike and Versatility are close, with Versatility also improving absorbs like Life Cocoon, Chi Cocoon, and Yu'lon's Grace while reducing damage taken. Mastery is usually the weakest healing stat in Midnight.

Opener and priority

Use these as decision priorities, not a rigid cast sequence. Re-evaluate whenever targets, resources, procs, or mechanics change.

Core principles

  • Align procs with damage: hold healing procs like Zen Pulse, Spiritfont, and Strength of the Black Ox for heavier incoming damage rather than spending them freely during downtime.
  • Keep mana at the forefront: mana management is a constant priority, and downtime is your best opportunity to spend Mana Tea stacks so you enter the next damage window with headroom.
  • Manage your Haste windows: when active, Haste accelerates your abilities and returns cooldowns faster, creating high-intensity windows that demand quick decision-making.
Conduit of the CelestialsThe first list is the raid priority (Vivify build, built on Heart of the Jade Serpent cooldown reduction); the second is the Mythic+ priority (Sheilun's Gift build), where melee weaving does maintenance healing and Thunder Focus Tea must stay on cooldown.

Single-target priority

  1. 1.Vivify - raid priority - to keep someone alive who would otherwise die without your intervention
  2. 2.Renewing Mist - if at 3 charges
  3. 3.Rushing Wind Kick
  4. 4.Mana Tea - if at 20 stacks
  5. 5.Zen Pulse / Spiritfont - consume at least one stack if you have 2, to avoid overcapping
  6. 6.Thunder Focus Tea - empowering Renewing Mist
  7. 7.Renewing Mist - any remaining charges
  8. 8.Vivify - with high Renewing Mist coverage and an injured raid
  9. 9.Zen Pulse / Spiritfont procs - consume with an injured raid
  10. 10.Enveloping Mist - with a Strength of the Black Ox proc
  11. 11.Mana Tea - if you have any stacks
  12. 12.Blackout Kick - or Tiger Palm if it is on cooldown, to fill

AoE priority

  1. 1.Sheilun's Gift - Mythic+ priority - to keep someone alive who would otherwise die
  2. 2.Spinning Crane Kick - with a Dance of Chi-Ji proc
  3. 3.Rising Sun Kick
  4. 4.Thunder Focus Tea - empowering Rising Sun Kick
  5. 5.Renewing Mist - if someone is missing it or one is about to fall off
  6. 6.Enveloping Mist - with a Strength of the Black Ox proc
  7. 7.Spinning Crane Kick - at 2+ targets
  8. 8.Tiger Palm - at least once before a Blackout Kick
  9. 9.Mana Tea - as mana is needed
Master of HarmonySame list shapes, built on gaining and spending vitality: Aspect of Harmony blankets HoTs, Sheilun's Gift applies them in keys, and Harmonic Surge stacks join the overcap rule.

  10. 10.Mana Tea - as mana is needed

Pre-combat checks

  • Be at 100% mana - drink Mana Tea stacks, Conjured Mana Buns, or mana water before the pull.
  • Repair your gear.
  • Check your cooldowns - some, like Thunder Focus Tea, may not reset on wipes; tell your team not to pull without them.
  • Apply consumables - flask, mana oil, and food - before combat.
  • Verify your talents match the encounter.
  • If another Monk already has Windwalking talented, swap it for something else useful.

Major cooldowns

Thunder Focus Tea

  • One of Mistweaver's most overloaded buttons - a rotational cooldown that should be paired with other cooldowns. It empowers your next spell: Enveloping Mist becomes instant and heals its full HoT amount up front, Renewing Mist gains +10 seconds of duration, Rising Sun Kick's incoming cooldown drops by 9 seconds.
  • Talents extend it further: Spiritfont grants a stack on press, Deep Clarity a Zen Pulse stack on consumption, Focused Thunder an extra empower, Secret Infusion a secondary-stat buff (Crit from Enveloping, Haste from Renewing, Versatility from Rising Sun Kick), Morning Breeze a full Rising Sun Kick reset, and Jade Infusion a Jade Serpent Statue.
  • Conduit of the Celestials: use it or lose it - sitting on it wastes Heart of the Jade Serpent cooldown acceleration.
  • Master of Harmony: press wisely - Endless Draught's two charges let you hold one for damage events without overcapping.

Revival / Restoral

  • Revival heals your entire group instantly in one global - one of the strongest panic heals in the game - and dispels Poison, Disease, and Magic from every ally (up to 3 effects each). It heals first and dispels second.
  • Restoral trades the Magic dispel away for safety, for fights where mass-dispelling is catastrophic (like Stinging Swarm on Mythic Anub'arash), and can be cast while stunned.
  • Uplifted Spirits cuts the cooldown to 2:30 and adds 15% healing.

Ramping

  • Mythic+: the number of Enveloping Mist casts in a ramp scales with the incoming damage and key level. Soothing Mist's time savings only start at the second Enveloping cast - do not channel it unless committing to 3 or more.
  • Raid: ramps revolve around Heart of the Jade Serpent windows - place and immediately extend several Renewing Mists, then follow with cooldowns or Zen Pulse stack spending.
  • A second raid ramp uses Invoke Yu'lon earlier than the damage so Vivify lines up with the spike.

Life Cocoon

  • Your external for medium single-target hits when follow-up damage is expected, and a tool during heavy AoE that lets you effectively ignore one player while triaging the rest.

Advanced tips

Responding to single-target damage

  • Light damage: your HoTs handle it - primarily Renewing Mist, scaled onto your lowest-health ally by Mistline. With Jadefire Teachings, keep attacking: Ancient Teachings gives one injured player the entire heal.
  • Medium damage (someone at ~50%): Life Cocoon if follow-up damage is coming; otherwise spend a Strength of the Black Ox or Spiritfont proc, or an instant Vivify / Sheilun's Gift via Vivacious Vivification - mindful that those procs may be better saved for AoE.
  • Heavy damage: channel Soothing Mist - it makes Vivify, Sheilun's Gift, and Enveloping Mist instant, adds its own HoT, and reduces damage via Elusive Mists. Only escalate here when casting several heals back to back on someone in genuine danger.

Responding to AoE damage

  • Light AoE: Renewing Mist coverage plus Jadefire Teachings damage-conversion carries it without spending globals.
  • Medium AoE: begin using cooldowns - Revival, Yu'lon or Chi-Ji, Celestial Conduit, Thunder Focus Tea - and now spend your held procs: Black Ox onto targets taking damage, Spiritfont for split healing plus Chi Cocoons, Zen Pulse stacks into your Renewing Mist coverage. A big Mana Tea chug via Tranquil Tea turns Sheilun's Gift into a stronger AoE heal.
  • Heavy AoE: cooldowns are mandatory and sometimes back to back - for example Revival during Chi-Ji, then a stacked Sheilun's Gift to top off. Hop your Vivify / Sheilun's Gift casts between the most injured players and Life Cocoon whoever you cannot afford to watch.

Renewing Mist jumps

  • When Renewing Mist overheals, it jumps to a random eligible target: within 20 yards of its holder, not already carrying one, and injured. Recasting onto someone who has one also forces the old one to jump.
  • Self-casting does not reliably auto-target: with no eligible target in 20 yards it just pandemics on you (up to +30% duration) and your group loses the Renewing Mist.
  • With Dancing Mists you can deliberately force jumps for immediate splits - high risk, high reward, since a failed jump refreshes in place instead.

Damage priority

  • This list ignores healing needs - healing always comes first, but downtime damage matters.
  • Conduit: Spinning Crane Kick with a Dance of Chi-Ji proc, Celestial Conduit offensively, Rising Sun Kick, Thunder Focus Tea empowering Rising Sun Kick, Spinning Crane Kick at 3+ targets, then Tiger Palm at least once before a Blackout Kick.
  • Master of Harmony: the same skeleton, but use your Aspect of Harmony vitality-withdraw windows offensively.

Recommended starting profiles

Single-target: Conduit of the Celestials

Conduit of the Celestials is the preferred raid and Mythic+ hero tree. Celestial Conduit, Unity Within, and Heart of the Jade Serpent amplify your existing Renewing Mist / kick / Vivify flow.

  • Conduit of the Celestials hero tree
  • Stat priority: Intellect > Haste
  • Interrupt: Spear Hand Strike

Multi-target: Conduit of the Celestials

Master of Harmony is playable but generally behind Conduit for healing. In Mythic+, it adds more damage emphasis and requires deliberate Harmonic Surge triggers through Tiger Palm, Blackout Kick, Rising Sun Kick, Thunder Focus Tea, and Vivify.

Survival and control

Utility, defensives, and movement

Your Monk toolkit is part of the rotation whenever it prevents lost uptime, lethal damage, or an enemy cast.

Transcendence lets you blink back to a placed spirit - huge for mechanics and skips.

Interrupt: Spear Hand Strike - grab a focus-interrupt macro on the Mistweaver macros page.

Execution

Interface and macros

Use interface changes only when they expose a decision sooner: resources, procs, defensives, dispels, interrupts, and encounter assignments.

Better Blizzplates - cleaner, threat-colored nameplates with cast bars and cooldown text - the nameplate upgrade nearly every top player runs.
OmniCD - party and enemy defensive/utility cooldown tracking - the biggest information edge the base UI still does not show.
Mythic Dungeon Tools - build and follow pull-by-pull Mythic+ routes.
Details! (optional) - deep damage/healing breakdowns and Warcraft Logs uploads beyond Midnight's built-in meter.
Cell (or VuhDo) - fast, click-cast raid frames built for healing.
Method Raid Tools - cooldown assignments, boss notes, and pull timers.

Game plan

Keep an answer for grip-based isolation and do not spend movement before the Death Knight commits their control chain.

No reviewed PvP baseline is published for this spec yet. Use the live tree to apply the matchup focus above rather than treating a PvE build as an arena answer.
