How Restoration Druid wins
Restoration is a HoT-centric healer that stacks Rejuvenation and Lifebloom, blooms with Swiftmend and Wild Growth, and excels at healing rolling raid damage. Mastery rewards keeping many HoTs on each target.
- Role
- Healer
- Stat lead
- Intellect then Haste
- Single target
- Wildstalker
- Cleave / AoE
- Keeper of the Grove
Strong when
- Strong rolling raid healing
- Great mobility from instant HoTs
- Battle rez, utility, and mana efficiency
Plan around
- Weaker burst and spot healing
- Reliant on ramping HoTs before damage
- Mastery rewards planning ahead, not reacting
Stat priority and consumables
Item level and effect strength still matter. Use this ordering to break close choices, then re-check it after major gear swaps.
- 1.Intellect
- 2.Haste
- 3.Mastery
- 4.Critical Strike
- 5.Versatility
Item level and Intellect lead. Haste adds HoT ticks and faster casts, which compounds with every blanket you put out. Mastery: Harmony rewards stacking HoTs, so it scales with how well you layer before damage. Critical Strike and Versatility trail. Weights move with tier and talents - sim before you regem.

Opener and priority
Use these as decision priorities, not a rigid cast sequence. Re-evaluate whenever targets, resources, procs, or mechanics change.
Core principles
- Maximize Wild Growth and Swiftmend casts: beyond their healing, both carry extra effects like spawning a Grove Guardian (which buffs all your healing), Reforestation, Everbloom, and Verdant Infusion. Swiftmend is the bigger priority; it is fine to sit on Wild Growth if no damage is going out.
- Utilize Abundance: put Rejuvenation on the group before or as damage hits so your follow-up Regrowth casts are free and always crit. This is the heart of the Restoration playstyle and where most of your healing and mana efficiency starts.
- Use major cooldowns: cast Convoke the Spirits / Incarnation: Tree of Life and Tranquility very often, pre-planned against the difficult moments of the fight.
Keeper of the GroveThe raid tree. Builds large burst-healing windows ('ramps') by stacking Harmony of the Grove and Power of Nature with Convoke the Spirits or Incarnation: Tree of Life. The single-target list is your sustained maintenance priority; the AoE list is the raid-damage ramp.
Single-target priority
- 1.Efflorescence - keep active as frequently as possible - with Lifetreading (the default build), keeping Lifebloom up does this automatically
- 2.Lifebloom - keep up at all times for the Everbloom Apex; Swiftmending your Lifebloom target extends it via Verdant Infusion
- 3.Swiftmend + Wild Growth - on cooldown if the raid has taken any damage; follow Swiftmend with Rejuvenation
- 4.Rejuvenation / Regrowth cycle - cast Rejuvenation until Abundance stacks are high, then Regrowth until they are low again; avoid Regrowth at low Abundance
- 5.Wrath - fill any free time - it restores a lot of mana over a fight through Master Shapeshifter
AoE priority
- 1.Incarnation: Tree of Life - if taken, cast before starting Rejuvenation - the mana discount is central to its value
- 2.Rejuvenation - begin your ramp about 15 seconds before damage hits - as many as you can
- 3.Swiftmend - followed by Rejuvenation - Soul of the Forest gives two free superpowered Rejuvenation buffs on the follow-up cast
- 4.Wild Growth - Swiftmend and Wild Growth automatically proc Grove Guardians, significantly buffing your healing
- 5.Convoke the Spirits - your short-cooldown burst heal - about a 50% chance to proc a mini-Flourish extending your Rejuvenations
- 6.Regrowth - until your Abundance stacks wear off - 100% crit, near-zero mana, and each cast heals other Regrowth targets via Nature's Bounty
WildstalkerThe Mythic+ tree - and you do not need to DPS in Cat Form to play it; that is a common misconception. The single-target list is your dungeon maintenance priority; the AoE list is how you counter telegraphed burst damage.
Single-target priority
- 1.Efflorescence - keep active at all times - with Lifetreading, keeping Lifebloom up does this for you
- 2.Lifebloom - keep up at all times; it makes up a lot of your dungeon healing via Everbloom
- 3.Swiftmend - on cooldown, even if the party is healthy - it procs Power of the Archdruid for two Rejuvenations, and Verdant Infusion extends HoTs on your target
- 4.Wild Growth - during moderate damage, or to top the group up after minor damage - extremely GCD-efficient and adds a Mastery stack to everyone
- 5.Nature's Swiftness + Regrowth - react to anyone dropping very low; plain Regrowth if Nature's Swiftness is down
- 6.Contribute DPS - fill any remaining free time (see catweaving)
AoE priority
- 1.Prep 5-6 seconds early - make sure Efflorescence is down and Lifebloom is active - you only get 2-3 casts inside the actual damage window
- 2.Rejuvenation - blanket the group, prioritizing DPS players - tanks are rarely threatened by this type of AoE
- 3.Wild Growth - as the boss begins its damage cast
- 4.Swiftmend - on a second target while Lifebloom covers the first
- 5.Regrowth - on whoever is most injured, then further Regrowths to stabilize the group
Pre-combat checks
- Cast Mark of the Wild - every pull.
- Make sure Symbiotic Relationship is active on another player; any squishy DPS is a fine choice.
- Flask on (every 1-2 hours), food buff, and Thalassian Phoenix Oil on your weapon (every two hours); optionally a Void-Touched Augment Rune.
- Start casting Rejuvenation a few seconds before the pull if there is relevant damage at the start.
Major cooldowns
Tranquility
- Your most powerful healing cooldown: it heals the whole raid or group, then extends all HoTs on targets by 2 seconds per tick (10 seconds total via the Flourish talent).
- Before pressing it, put out Wild Growth and as many Rejuvenations as possible, then extend them all with Tranquility - the result is a 20-25 second healing window followed by free 100%-crit Regrowth spam.
- With Incarnation: Tree of Life, combining the two is often worth it - channeling Tranquility pauses your tree buff's duration.
- In dungeons, use Tranquility for its raw healing rather than its ramp potential - press it whenever the group is in danger.
Cooldown planning
- Pre-plan cooldowns as often as possible and avoid saving them 'just in case' - hoarding costs mana across the fight and raises the chance of a death.
- Maximize how many times your big cooldowns come out, avoid using them into low-damage periods, and layer the raid's defensive cooldowns over the most dangerous moments.
- Cooldowns are often weaker split apart, but hitting more frequent damage windows can beat maximum combined HPS - use judgment per fight.
Advanced tips
Mana management
- Avoid casting too many Regrowths at low Abundance stacks.
- Cast Innervate on cooldown: the first at about 80% mana, then whenever it returns. Use it when you do not have high Abundance stacks, and mostly cast Rejuvenation during it.
- Avoid gaps in your rotation - Restoration is a very high-APM spec, and any wasted time is time you could have spent casting Wrath to regenerate mana via Master Shapeshifter.
Catweaving
- Catweaving - swapping to Cat Form for Rake and Rip - is your highest-DPS playstyle in both raid and Mythic+, but your DPS is never more important than the party's safety.
- Cast Prowl before combat; open with Rake on the highest-health enemy, keep applying Rake across the pack, and press Rip at 5 combo points.
- Once everything has Rake, use Swipe on 3+ targets or Shred on 1-2; on a single target, Ferocious Bite instead of Rip if one is already up.
- Keep Rake (and optionally Shred) on your caster-form bar - Fluid Form shifts you into Cat Form without spending a global, which makes the whole style flow.
Talents and hero trees
Use Wildstalker for the single-target profile below and Keeper of the Grove when cleave or adds make its toolkit more valuable.
Recommended starting profiles
Single-target: Wildstalker
Wildstalker adds Symbiotic Blooms and Thriving Growth for stronger tank and spot healing throughput.
- Wildstalker hero tree
- Stat priority: Intellect > Haste
Multi-target: Keeper of the Grove
Keeper of the Grove leans on Grove Guardians and treants for the biggest raid-wide healing.
- Keeper of the Grove hero tree
- Prioritize AoE and add-swap talents
Verified import strings
Start with the profile matching your content. Boss and dungeon tabs in the gear section show the exact loadout used for each ranked result.
Raid - Keeper of the Grove
Default raid build. Keeper of the Grove strengthens your multi-target toolkit through Grove's Inspiration and Power of the Dream, while Control of the Dream smooths cooldown planning across a fight. Ramp with a Rejuvenation blanket into Wild Growth, then Flourish or Convoke the Spirits on the damage event. Early Spring keeps Wild Growth available for every ramp.
Mythic+ - Wildstalker
Default key build. Wildstalker rewards focused healing on a five-player group, with Root Network and Resilient Flourishing adding value to the HoTs you already run and Entangling Vortex bringing real pack control. Prosperity and Verdant Infusion make Swiftmend a flexible triage-and-extend tool between pulls and during spot-damage spikes.
Flex - Stonebark Tank Support
Take Stonebark over Verdant Infusion when tank damage is the fight's real problem - dangerous Tyrannical bosses or raid tank-buster checks. Keep Lifebloom rolling on the tank, hold Ironbark for the buster, and let Nature's Splendor stretch your single-target HoT value.
Arena - Vines & Peel (3v3)
Survival and control first. Thorns and Entangling Bark punish melee trains, Deep Roots makes Entangling Roots stick, and Disentanglement turns Efflorescence into snare removal for your team. Forest Guardian rewards weaving damage casts between HoT refreshes. Swap picks by enemy comp.

- As Keeper of the Grove in raid, ramp about 15 seconds ahead: blanket Rejuvenation, Swiftmend into Wild Growth for Grove Guardians, then Convoke the Spirits into the damage.
- As Wildstalker in Mythic+, keep Efflorescence and Lifebloom up, Swiftmend on cooldown even at full health, and answer spikes with Nature's Swiftness Regrowth.
- Plan Tranquility against scheduled raid damage: put out Wild Growth and Rejuvenations first and let its ticks extend them - Flourish is folded into Tranquility via talent.
- Cycle Rejuvenation to build Abundance stacks, then spend them on cheap guaranteed-crit Regrowths; avoid Regrowth at low stacks.
- Cast Innervate on cooldown starting around 80 percent mana and mostly Rejuvenation during it; fill dead time with Wrath for Master Shapeshifter mana.
- Do not hoard cooldowns - more Convoke, Tree of Life, and Tranquility uses across the fight beat one perfect save.
- Keep Lifebloom and Efflorescence active, but do not stand still to be perfect; a living Druid with slightly imperfect HoTs is still winning.
Common mistakes
- Reacting instead of pre-ramping
- Overwriting HoTs and losing duration
- Hard-casting Regrowth without Clearcasting
- Saving Tranquility too long
FAQ
5 quick answersWhat is the best Restoration Druid stat priority in Midnight Season 1?
Intellect and item level first, then Haste, Mastery, Critical Strike, and Versatility. Haste adds ticks and faster casts; Mastery: Harmony rewards stacking HoTs, so its real value depends on how well you layer before damage arrives. Sim before you commit to gems and enchants.
Which hero tree should Restoration Druid play?
Keeper of the Grove for raid and multi-target healing; Wildstalker when the job is focused single-target work, which describes most Mythic+ keys. Check the per-boss recommendation before raid night rather than locking one tree for the whole season.
How does a Restoration Druid ramp for raid damage?
Start early. Blanket Rejuvenation across the raid, keep Lifebloom on the tank, cast Wild Growth as the damage lands, then extend everything with Flourish or fill gaps with Convoke the Spirits. Tranquility is the answer for sustained raid-wide damage - do not overlap it with a ramp that already covers the event.
Does Restoration Druid have an interrupt?
No. Plan around it: Incapacitating Roar, Ursol's Vortex, Typhoon, and Mighty Bash stop or displace dangerous casts, Soothe removes enrages, and Cyclone shuts down a priority target entirely. In keys, tell your group up front which stops you are covering so kicks are assigned elsewhere.
When should I use Swiftmend?
As triage when someone is about to die, and as a value play when talented into Verdant Infusion or Prosperity. It consumes groundwork you have already laid, so keep a HoT on likely triage targets - a Swiftmend with nothing behind it is a wasted button.
