Nokhudon Proving Grounds positioning guide

Ohn'ahran Plains | Split-wall ramp arena

The central wall makes side control decisive: a ramp and adjacent pillar can deny a clean route to the healer.

Tactical view

Geometry that changes the match

The diagram is a positioning model, not a scale map. It highlights the cover, level changes, and rotation lanes that matter during combat.

CoverRaised terrainExample rotation
Terrain
Ramps, pillars, and a central wall that divides lines of sight.
Primary edge
Use the wall to hide intent, then cross together when enemy mobility and control are unavailable.
Failure state
A DPS chasing through the wall can turn off healing instantly and invite an easy swap.

The 30-second plan

  1. 01 / Open

    Establish the anchor

Pick a wall side and name the retreat ramp. Do not cross alone unless the healer has immediate line or it is a coordinated go.

  2. 02 / Hold

    Preserve healer access

Stay where you can see the team's ramp exit. The wall is strong cover only if you cannot be pinned on the wrong side.

  3. 03 / Pressure

    Attack the useful lane

Force enemy mobility at ramps and control the wall crossing. Targets caught between wall and pillar are vulnerable when the healer takes the long route.

  4. 04 / Abort

    Recognize the losing route

A DPS chasing through the wall can turn off healing instantly and invite an easy swap.

Role routes

Where each player should work

Healer

Stay where you can see the team's ramp exit. The wall is strong cover only if you cannot be pinned on the wrong side.

Melee

Choose a wall side with the healer before connecting. If the target crosses alone, control the return or switch to the enemy still sharing your support lane.

Ranged

Use the wall to hide a cast setup, then emerge on the same side as the healer. Place ground effects on flat approaches where teammates and enemies can read them.

Map advantage

Toolkits this geometry rewards

Setup casters

The wall conceals the final cast or crowd-control approach.

Roots and knockbacks

Ramp crossings create predictable control points.

Mobile melee

Fast wall-side swaps punish isolated targets.

Unique map notes

Small decisions that win Nokhudon Proving Grounds

  1. 1

    Call wall side before target

Left wall and right wall tells the healer whether the next global is possible.

  2. 2

    Treat ramps as sight breaks

A target that looks close may already be below the healing lane.

  3. 3

    Place effects on flat ground

Ramp art can make hostile and friendly ground effects difficult to identify.

What is verified and what is tactical analysis

Map availability and geometry are checked against the references below. The healer anchors, routes, switch decisions, and toolkit conclusions are WoW-God's analysis of that geometry. Player reports are labeled as field observations rather than official rules.
