The faint marks are every other quest objective recorded in this zone. There is no zone artwork here, so they stand in for the coastline: quests only send you where the zone is walkable.

Standing there and seeing nothing?

  • practice. Convention among strong players. Widely followed, but it is not a rule and it can be wrong.Open your own quest log map. If the game draws no marker there, you are not in the phase for it, and that is definitive. Trust the game over us, and tell us in the comments so we can record it.

What To Do

Complete the quest objective shown in your tracker in The Waking Shores, then return to the turn-in NPC.

Quest Text

Attacking the djaradin controlling the Obsidian Citadel will be no easy task. Even with Wrathion and his Blacktalon forces, this will be a fierce battle. Wrathion may be confident, but... I am not so certain. Perhaps we can speak to those helping to plan the strategy, and see if we can find any room for improvement.

Field notes

Objectives and map pin

Blizzard's public API publishes a quest's text and rewards but not its objectives, its own level, whether it can be shared, or any map coordinate. Nobody has synced quest 66048 yet, so there is nothing to show here rather than a guess. Running the WowGodSync addon while you play contributes those fields for everyone.

Have I done this?

Check it in game

Quest completion is stored per character on Blizzard's side and is not in the public API, so paste this in your chat box and it prints true or false for “Best Plans and Intentions” on the character you are logged into.

Completion check
/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(66048))
Warband-wide check (11.0+)
/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompletedOnAccount(66048))

A false also comes back for a quest id the client does not know, so it means “not recorded as complete” rather than proof the quest exists on your account.
