The faint marks are every other quest objective recorded in this zone. There is no zone artwork here, so they stand in for the coastline: quests only send you where the zone is walkable.
Standing there and seeing nothing?
- practice. Convention among strong players. Widely followed, but it is not a rule and it can be wrong.Open your own quest log map. If the game draws no marker there, you are not in the phase for it, and that is definitive. Trust the game over us, and tell us in the comments so we can record it.
What To Do
Complete the quest objective shown in your tracker in Stormsong Valley, then return to the turn-in NPC.
Quest Text
We stand on the brink, you and I. The final act looms over us, casting a terrible shadow. Deep we plumbed, seeking knowledge of the world. Deeper still we delved, until our fate was inevitable. Minds were shattered, my comrades ran screaming into the night. We are all lost, to that terrible Thing... Now, the malformed syzygy beckons. Complete the ritual and bring about the end.
Plan the run before you travel
Stormsong Valley belongs to the Battle for Azeroth archive. Start with its campaign track if this record is unavailable or the next step is missing.
Check the exact quest giver and turn-in records above first. Use this page's community comments for phase changes, cave entrances, spawn timing, and corrections from the live game.
No group size is listed by Blizzard, so this is usually soloable unless the objective text says otherwise.
Pin the quest in-game, enable objective outlines, then use the exact-title references in the archive for NPC or object coordinates. Add a correction below if the live game differs from this record.
Objectives and map pin
Blizzard's public API publishes a quest's text and rewards but not its objectives, its own level, whether it can be shared, or any map coordinate. Nobody has synced quest 53099 yet, so there is nothing to show here rather than a guess. Running the WowGodSync addon while you play contributes those fields for everyone.
Check it in game
Quest completion is stored per character on Blizzard's side and is not in the public API, so paste this in your chat box and it prints true or false for “A Mote of Cosmic Truth” on the character you are logged into.
/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(53099))/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompletedOnAccount(53099))A false also comes back for a quest id the client does not know, so it means “not recorded as complete” rather than proof the quest exists on your account.
