The faint marks are every other quest objective recorded in this zone. There is no zone artwork here, so they stand in for the coastline: quests only send you where the zone is walkable.

Standing there and seeing nothing?

  • practice. Convention among strong players. Widely followed, but it is not a rule and it can be wrong.Open your own quest log map. If the game draws no marker there, you are not in the phase for it, and that is definitive. Trust the game over us, and tell us in the comments so we can record it.

What To Do

Complete the quest objective shown in your tracker in Gorgrond, then return to the turn-in NPC.

Quest Text

I have already learned much from watching the Laughing Skull. Traveling through goren tunnels was thought to be impossible due to the acid they leave behind, but the orcs found a way around it. We will need some of the shells of goren within the canyon. If you see any of their tunnel craters ready to burst, approach them and goren will come pouring out. This way, you can kill many at once and find the shells more quickly.

Stuck?

Check the exact quest giver and turn-in records above first. Use this page's community comments for phase changes, cave entrances, spawn timing, and corrections from the live game.

Group size

No group size is listed by Blizzard, so this is usually soloable unless the objective text says otherwise.

Use the evidence

Pin the quest in-game, enable objective outlines, then use the exact-title references in the archive for NPC or object coordinates. Add a correction below if the live game differs from this record.

Field notes

Objectives and map pin

Blizzard's public API publishes a quest's text and rewards but not its objectives, its own level, whether it can be shared, or any map coordinate. Nobody has synced quest 36210 yet, so there is nothing to show here rather than a guess. Running the WowGodSync addon while you play contributes those fields for everyone.

Have I done this?

Check it in game

Quest completion is stored per character on Blizzard's side and is not in the public API, so paste this in your chat box and it prints true or false for “Hard Shell” on the character you are logged into.

Completion check
/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(36210))
Warband-wide check (11.0+)
/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompletedOnAccount(36210))

A false also comes back for a quest id the client does not know, so it means “not recorded as complete” rather than proof the quest exists on your account.
