Quest Text

There are great dangers in the woods south of here. They are crawling with Darnassian scouts - assassins sent from Darnassus to kill us. Perhaps we can turn the tables on them, eh? When I was marooned on the Lost Isles a goblin gave me these infrared heat focals. They allow the wearer to see heat signatures of certain creatures. Take the focals and use them while in the woods to the south. They will allow you to easily spot the scouts. Kill as many of them as you can! For the Horde!

Plan the run before you travel

Archive context

Check the quest area, faction, and level range before you travel. If this quest is part of a chain, finish nearby campaign quests in the same zone first.

Stuck?

Check the exact quest giver and turn-in records above first. Use this page's community comments for phase changes, cave entrances, spawn timing, and corrections from the live game.

Group size

No group size is listed by Blizzard, so this is usually soloable unless the objective text says otherwise.

Use the evidence

Pin the quest in-game, enable objective outlines, then use the exact-title references in the archive for NPC or object coordinates. Add a correction below if the live game differs from this record.

Field notes

Objectives and map pin

Blizzard's public API publishes a quest's text and rewards but not its objectives, its own level, whether it can be shared, or any map coordinate. Nobody has synced quest 26003 yet, so there is nothing to show here rather than a guess. Running the WowGodSync addon while you play contributes those fields for everyone.

Have I done this?

Check it in game

Quest completion is stored per character on Blizzard's side and is not in the public API, so paste this in your chat box and it prints true or false for “Lessons from the Lost Isles” on the character you are logged into.

Completion check
/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(26003))
Warband-wide check (11.0+)
/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompletedOnAccount(26003))

A false also comes back for a quest id the client does not know, so it means “not recorded as complete” rather than proof the quest exists on your account.
