The rage quit audio belongs to a meme that started on a Madden NFL 21 stream in February 2021, and DocMilSap laid this Classic footage under it in May 2022, tagged with the hashtag that gives the joke away. On 28 February 2021, Snoop Dogg streamed Madden NFL 21 on Twitch. About 15 minutes in he failed to stop a touchdown, shouted, and walked out of frame. He did not come back, and he did not end the broadcast either: the stream ran on to an empty chair for roughly seven more hours and collected close to half a million views before somebody switched it off.
He pulled the video from his own channel afterwards, which is usually where a clip dies. A reupload by Bringing Down The Band went up on 1 March 2021 and took about 300,000 views in 22 days, and by then the audio had left the context it was recorded in for good.
Editors reached for it immediately. Within a week the same meltdown had been cut over four other things, and by 23 March 2021 the hashtag held more than 230 videos. The Ashenvale version arrived over a year later, which makes it a late entry in a genre rather than the origin of anything.
