Vaelgor & Ezzorak

Vaelgor and Ezzorak are a two-boss fight built on spacing and even damage. Tanks hold the pair just over ten yards apart so cleave hits both without triggering Null Resonance, trade bosses on Duty-Bound Brand, and the raid splits per boss for Convergent Annihilation - then both bosses must die within ten seconds of each other.

Before the pull

Set the encounter assignments before pull

  • Mark two tank spots just over ten yards apart across the middle of the room. Inside ten yards the bosses stack Null Resonance; beyond thirty they rapidly heal each other through Voidbound Union.
  • Assign each tank a starting boss and agree the trade: swap bosses - not taunt back - at four stacks of Duty-Bound Brand.
  • Split the raid into a Vaelgor half and an Ezzorak half for Convergent Annihilation before the pull, with healers balanced across both sides.
  • Use Bloodlust or Heroism on the pull. The whole fight is one cleave pattern with no better late window - the only rule is keeping both health bars even.
Fight flow

Resolve the encounter in this order

  1. 01

    Set the line

Tanks pull Vaelgor to the left mark and Ezzorak to the right, faced away from each other and the raid. Melee take the pocket between them; ranged and healers arc behind the pocket at range.

  2. 02

    Cleave and balance

Everything that can hit both bosses should. Funnel priority damage into whichever boss is higher so the pair stays within a few percent of each other all fight.

  3. 03

    Breath and Stare

Nullflame Breath is a tank-aimed frontal - never through the pocket. When Final Stare completes, anyone facing Vaelgor is stunned into the follow-up hit, so everyone turns away for the last second of the cast.

  4. 04

    Cascade and Grasp

Shadowfury Cascade is scripted raid damage - rotate the mapped healing cooldowns. Grasp of Ezzorak roots three players in void tendrils; the nearest DPS break them before the tendrils drag their targets to Ezzorak.

  5. 05

    Trade the Brands

At four stacks of Duty-Bound Brand the tanks cross and swap bosses in place. The bosses stay on their marks; only the tanks move.

  6. 06

    Split the Annihilation

At full shared energy both bosses channel Convergent Annihilation. Each half collapses onto its own boss to split the strike, holds through the knockback, then resets the line. Kill them within ten seconds of each other or the survivor's Final Fury ends the pull.

Mechanics

What each mechanic asks of you

Voidbound Union and Null Resonance

Tanks

Hold the ten-to-thirty yard band at all times. The floor marks exist so nobody has to eyeball it mid-fight.

Failure: Too close stacks Null Resonance until both bosses one-shot their tanks; too far heals back everything your cleave earned.

Duty-Bound Brand

Tanks

Trade bosses at four stacks. Crossing swaps the Brand pressure without moving either boss off its mark.

Failure: A fifth stack makes that boss's melee unhealable, and taunting your own boss back does not clear the Brand.

Nullflame Breath and Final Stare

Everyone

Breath stays aimed out of the pocket; everyone checks their facing in the last second of Final Stare, no matter which boss they are hitting.

Failure: A Breath through the pocket clips the melee camp, and players stunned by the Stare stand in whatever lands next.

Grasp of Ezzorak

Nearest DPS

Break the three tendrils immediately - rooted players are dragged toward Ezzorak while held.

Failure: A player dragged to Ezzorak's feet takes rapidly rising Shadow damage, and late breaks pull healers off the Cascade.

Shadowfury Cascade

Healers

Scripted raid bursts roughly every thirty seconds. Map cooldowns in advance and pre-heal the melee pocket, which eats the most overlap.

Failure: An unplanned Cascade stacking with Grasp ticks turns a routine pulse into deaths.

Convergent Annihilation and Final Fury

Everyone

Split to your assigned boss, share the strike, and keep both bosses inside the ten-second kill window.

Failure: An uneven split kills a soak group, and an uneven kill hands the survivor Final Fury - a wipe in all but name.

Voidbound UnionPassive link

Vaelgor and Ezzorak are bound: beyond thirty yards apart they rapidly heal each other, and if one dies the other must follow within ten seconds.

Raid response: Tank on the marks, keep damage even, and call the final burn on both at once.

  • Final Fury: The surviving boss enrages once its partner has been dead for ten seconds.
Null ResonancePassive link

While the bosses are within ten yards of each other, both stack rapidly increasing damage done.

Raid response: The distance band is a tank job, but anyone can call drift the moment the pocket starts shrinking.

A wide frontal cone of shadowflame on Vaelgor's current tank.

Raid response: Keep Vaelgor faced out of the pocket and overcommit the angle - the cone is wider than it looks.

Vaelgor fixes the raid: when the cast completes, anyone facing him is stunned and takes heavy Shadow damage.

Raid response: Turn your character away for the last second of the cast, then snap back. Range does not protect you - only facing does.

A raid-wide Shadow burst roughly every thirty seconds, heavier while Grasp targets are still held.

Raid response: Rotate the mapped healing cooldowns and use personals when a Cascade overlaps tendril breaks.

Void tendrils root three players and drag them toward Ezzorak until the tendril dies.

Raid response: Nearest DPS swap instantly. On Mythic the tendrils are tougher and the drag is faster - treat them as the top priority target.

Duty-Bound BrandTank mechanic

Each boss's strikes brand its tank, stacking increased damage taken from that boss only.

Raid response: Trade bosses at four stacks. The Brand from one boss ignores the other, so crossing resets the pressure.

Both bosses channel a combined strike at each boss's position, split among the players stacked there, then knock everyone back.

Raid response: Collapse onto your assigned boss, share the hit, hold through the knockback, then re-form the line.

Role plan

Your job in the pull

Tanks

You own the geometry. Hold your marks, aim Breath out of the pocket, and make the Brand trade a silent, practiced cross - every yard of drift costs the raid cleave or triggers Resonance.

Healers

Damage is a drumbeat: Cascade, Grasp, Annihilation. Balance yourselves across both soak groups before the pull and bank externals for a Cascade that lands during tendril breaks.

Melee DPS

Live in the pocket and hit both bosses with everything that cleaves. You are also the fastest tendril break - swap instantly, then get back on the pair.

Ranged DPS

Funnel the higher boss to keep the pair even, and pre-position toward your Annihilation side so the split costs you no casts.

Everyone

Even damage is a mechanic, not a suggestion. A boss dying early is the same as a wipe - watch the pair's health bars like a timer.
