Fallen-King Salhadaar

Salhadaar alternates long single-target burn phases with a Rite of Dominion intermission. Tanks cycle Mandate of Ruin and Coiled Malice, Twilight Brands walk to the edges, and preassigned groups man all four Oathstones through Crown of Malice to earn the Shattered Crown burst window that decides the kill.

Before the pull

Set the encounter assignments before pull

  • Preassign four Oathstone groups to the compass marks: two players per stone on Normal, three on Heroic, four on Mythic, with a healer or strong personals in each group.
  • Agree the tank rule: swap after every Mandate of Ruin. Coiled Malice keeps ticking through the next cast, so the debuffed tank plays defensively instead of taking the boss back early.
  • Mark Brand drop zones along the back edge. Twilight Remnant pools last the whole phase, so sloppy placement shrinks the Oathstone routes.
  • Hold Bloodlust or Heroism for the first Shattered Crown. It is twenty seconds of twenty-five percent increased damage taken and stacks with everything else you bank for it.
Fight flow

Resolve the encounter in this order

  1. 01

    Open the burn

Tank Salhadaar in the center with the raid loosely behind. This is a pure single-target phase: settle the Mandate rhythm early and pool damage cooldowns rather than spending them before the first Shattered Crown.

  2. 02

    Walk the Brands

Twilight Brand marks three players. Walk to the marked back edge before the eight-second detonation and drop the Twilight Remnant pool where nobody will path during the intermission.

  3. 03

    Heal the climb

Sovereign's Requiem pulses harder as his energy rises. Spot-heal the early pulses cheaply and save throughput for the final pulses just before the Rite.

  4. 04

    Man the Oathstones

At full energy he casts Rite of Dominion, withdraws to his throne immune, and ignites four Oathstones at the compass marks. Groups move the moment the cast starts - late arrivals are the most common wipe.

  5. 05

    Survive Crown of Malice

The channel repeatedly strikes each Oathstone with Shadow damage split among the players holding it. Use personals on the later pulses and stay planted - stepping off mid-channel fails the stone.

  6. 06

    Exploit Shattered Crown

Holding all four stones shatters his crown: twenty seconds of twenty-five percent increased damage taken. Dump everything, then reset the burn positions. Grave Chill after the second Rite makes the third window the practical deadline.

Mechanics

What each mechanic asks of you

Mandate of Ruin and Coiled Malice

Tanks

Mitigate the three-hit Mandate, then swap. The Coiled Malice holder stays in range but off the boss until the coil unwinds.

Failure: Stacked Coiled Malice turns the next Mandate lethal, and a Mandate through the raid is a one-shot cone.

Twilight Brand

Marked players

Walk out on the mark, detonate in the assigned edge zone, and return. Keep the compass routes clean.

Failure: A Remnant dropped mid-arena blocks Oathstone routes, and a Brand detonated in the group chunks everyone at once.

Sovereign's Requiem

Healers

Ramping raid pulses tied to his energy. Heal cheaply early and bring full throughput to the last pulses before each Rite.

Failure: Treating every pulse equally drains mana before the intermission, when the raid actually needs it.

Rite of Dominion and Oathstones

Preassigned groups

Move on the cast, fill your stone to the difficulty count, and stay planted through the full channel.

Failure: Any failed stone grants Unbowed - a permanent damage buff - and skips the Shattered Crown window entirely.

Crown of Malice

Stone groups and healers

Split each strike evenly on your stone and rotate personals across the later, harder pulses. Externals go to whichever stone runs a healer short.

Failure: An unhealed stone group breaks formation, fails the stone, and hands Salhadaar Unbowed anyway.

Shattered Crown and Grave Chill

DPS

Map damage cooldowns to the Shattered Crown windows and lust the first one. Grave Chill makes the third window the deadline.

Failure: Damage spent between windows leaves him alive when Grave Chill outpaces your healers.

Mandate of RuinBurn phase

A three-strike frontal combo on the current tank that applies Coiled Malice on the final hit.

Raid response: Active mitigation through all three strikes, then an immediate swap. Only the active tank stands in front.

Coiled MaliceTank debuff

A coiling Shadow damage-over-time that persists through the next Mandate of Ruin.

Raid response: The debuffed tank plays defensively and takes the boss back only after the coil expires.

Twilight BrandBurn phase

Marks three players; each Brand detonates after eight seconds and leaves a Twilight Remnant pool for the rest of the phase.

Raid response: Walk to the marked back edge, detonate away from the group, and keep the compass routes clean.

  • Twilight Remnant: A persistent shadow pool left by each Brand detonation.

A raid-wide Shadow pulse that scales with Salhadaar's energy.

Raid response: Cheap healing early, full throughput on the final pulses before each Rite of Dominion.

Rite of DominionIntermission

At full energy Salhadaar withdraws to his throne, immune, and ignites four Oathstones at the compass marks.

Raid response: Preassigned groups sprint on the cast: two per stone on Normal, three on Heroic, four on Mythic.

  • Oathstone: A soak ring that must hold its full player count for the entire channel.
  • Unbowed: A permanent damage buff Salhadaar gains for each failed Oathstone.
Crown of MaliceIntermission

A channel that repeatedly strikes each Oathstone with Shadow damage split among the players holding it.

Raid response: Stay planted, split evenly, and rotate personals across the later pulses.

Shattered CrownAfter a clean Rite

Holding all four Oathstones shatters his crown: Salhadaar takes twenty-five percent increased damage for twenty seconds.

Raid response: This is the kill window. Bloodlust the first one and map remaining cooldowns to the second and third.

Grave ChillSoft enrage

After the second Rite, a stacking chill slows and damages the raid for the rest of the fight.

Raid response: Plan the kill inside the third Shattered Crown. Every movement mechanic gets strictly harder as the chill stacks.

Role plan

Your job in the pull

Tanks

Keep the Mandate rhythm boring: mitigate three hits, swap, recover. Position him so Brand routes and compass paths stay open, and never turn the combo through the raid.

Healers

Your fight is the energy bar. Ramp with the Requiem, arrive at your own Oathstone alive, and keep your stone group standing through Crown of Malice before topping the raid for the burn.

DPS

Pool for Shattered Crown and dump everything inside it. Brands walk out immediately - a dead Brand carrier is a missing Oathstone soaker.

Everyone

The Oathstone assignment is the whole fight. Know your stone, your group, and your route past the Remnant pools before the pull, not during the Rite.
