Zaen Bladesorrow

At 100 energy Zaen aims Murder in a Row at every player in his line of sight, and anyone not hidden behind a Forbidden Freight crate takes a near-lethal shot plus a long bleed. Keys die to barrel management: Fire Bombs and stray shots blow up crates 5 seconds after they are hit, and every fel barrel left alive stacks the party-wide Fel-Infused Freight rot until the healer drowns.

The key group plan

Priorities before the pull

  • Track Zaen's energy bar; at 100 he casts Murder in a Row and everyone must already be behind a crate.
  • Assign one player to walk Fire Bombs into the fel barrels early so Fel-Infused Freight never stacks.
  • Always keep one clean Forbidden Freight crate reserved as cover, because a crate that was shot or bombed explodes 5 seconds later.

The casts that matter in keys

Murder in a Row

Murder in a Row

DISPEL: BLEED

At 100 energy Zaen takes aim and then shoots every player in his line of sight, dealing heavy Physical damage plus an additional Bleed over 15 seconds.

Everyone breaks line of sight behind a Forbidden Freight crate before the cast finishes; if someone gets clipped, remove the bleed and stabilize them fast.

Same-Day Delivery

Same-Day Delivery

Warehouse workers hurl Forbidden Freight crates at players, dealing Fire damage on impact and knocking them away; the landed crates become your cover.

Dodge the falling crates, then note where they land, because those crates are the only line-of-sight blockers for Murder in a Row.

Fire Bomb

Fire Bomb

Zaen sticks a ticking bomb on a player that explodes after 6 seconds, damaging everyone within 6 yards and destroying any Forbidden Freight caught in the blast.

Spread away from the group, and use the first set of bombs deliberately to detonate the fel barrels while saving one clean crate for cover.

Fel-Infused Freight

Fel-Infused Freight

Each volatile fel barrel still standing pulses Fire damage into the entire party every 3 seconds, and multiple barrels stack the rot.

Walk Fire Bombs into the fel barrels early so the pulsing stops; never let more than one stack linger into Killing Spree.

Killing Spree

Killing Spree

Zaen unleashes a rapid barrage of gunfire that hits the whole party every half second for 3 seconds and ignores armor.

Group defensives and a healing cooldown flatten this; call it as the biggest scripted heal check of the fight.

Envenom

Envenom

Zaen drives a poisoned blade into his current target for very heavy Physical damage and applies Heartstop Poison.

Tank uses active mitigation for the hit itself and calls for the dispel on the follow-up poison.

Heartstop Poison

Heartstop Poison

DISPEL: POISON

A lethal poison that reduces the tank's maximum health by 30 percent and deals massive Nature damage over 15 seconds.

Healer dispels this poison on the first tick; a tank sitting at 70 percent maximum health into the next Envenom is how tanks die.

Role calls

What each role owns

Tanks

Use active mitigation for every Envenom and expect to be at reduced maximum health until Heartstop Poison is dispelled.

Healers

Dispel Heartstop Poison immediately, then keep the party topped through Killing Spree and any active Fel-Infused Freight pulses.

DPS

Carry your Fire Bomb away from the group and onto a fel barrel, never onto the crate the party is saving for cover.

Everyone

Pre-position behind a Forbidden Freight crate as Zaen approaches full energy, and leave any crate that just got hit, because it detonates after 5 seconds.

Tyrannical: A Murder in a Row clip is effectively a one-shot, and the Envenom into Heartstop Poison combination can kill the tank through the 30 percent maximum health cut, so pre-plan tank externals and dispel the poison on its first tick.

Pull-time callouts

Say these before the pull

  • Cover check at 100 energy; no crate between you and Zaen means a lethal shot plus a bleed.
  • A crate hit by a bomb or a shot explodes 5 seconds later; do not linger behind it.
  • Bomb the fel barrels first and save a clean crate for cover.
  • Killing Spree ignores armor; stack group defensives on it.
